My friend in college had a similar incident in College Park. He was riding his bike across the little driveway leading into Frat Row, and a little old lady ran over his bike, pushing him into Rt. 1. I think he had actually stopped before going across, but she was turning into Rt. 1 and didn’t look to see him crossing.

His bike was crushed, he was fine, luckily. Old lady didn’t buy him new bike… he didn’t push anything. Glad you didn’t get too hurt, but get a new bike from her, I say!

The Do Not Mail campaign debunked that driving vs. catalogs point specifically in their report on the climate impacts of junk mail, saying basically that the emissions from logging, production, and distribution of catalogs has a climate impact 5 to 10 times greater than simply driving to the store to buy what you want.

As for the $ savings, remember that they’re calculating the savings of products that you probably don’t want.
